Set directly across from the Heritage Trail in the Perth Hills, this cottage-style cafe delivers scratch-made pantry fare and tranquil bush views. Hikers and morning walkers rely on it for takeaway espresso before bushland outings, but the real draw is the kitchen’s dedication to making its cakes, chutneys, and mayo on-site. The cabinet stays packed with housemade friands, zucchini feta quiche, and gluten-free bakes. Out back, dogs lounge in the courtyard while kids commandeer the indoor play corner. Old-school milkshakes still arrive blended in chilled alloy tins with the shaker poured right at the table.

warmed up the gluten-free quiche for takeaway which was very nice. The base wasn’t pastry had chia seed in it but a nice thin crunchy base which was good and the filling to egg ratio was very nice.
