How should I plan a Rottnest day trip without hiring a bike?

I will take a ferry from Fremantle and already have a fixed activity on the island. I would like a little time at beaches or viewpoints and need to choose a return trip.

    Book a ferry that leaves enough margin before your fixed activity and check the operator's terms for return changes. Do not treat a booked return sailing as flexible unless that operator confirms it; popular dates can sell out.
