How do I plan grocery shopping during a self-catering stay in Perth CBD?

I will be staying near the centre without a car and need food for simple meals. How can I find a convenient shop without carrying a heavy load too far?

Search the current supermarket and small-grocer locations around your exact accommodation before arrival, then check their trading hours for your dates. If the nearest useful shop is beyond a comfortable walk, plan a lighter first shop or use the current Transperth CAT route map for the return; old forum directions and shop names may no longer apply.
